Rushing and hurrying have been something I've been thinking and writing about for a few years now. I know it's detrimental to our nervous system but never have I made the connection to it being a form of violence and abuse we do to ourselves. Such a great way to think about it.

The violence piece of it really drives it home for me. It helps when I catch myself rushing.

This is an amazing way to focus in on the importance of slowing down for our nervous system. For me, the early years of being a stay at home mom - especially with a curious preschooler, were what forced me to slow down in life.

It was either be frustrated and jerk her along constantly or learn to build extra time into the day to admire the caterpillar, the ant and the random dandelion poking through the sidewalk. (and the long and complex story that went along with each)

I love that! Kids are our best teachers

Needed to read this today. Thank you! What I heard for me was to slow down, my dream doesn’t require me to punish myself on the way there. 🙏✨

Yes! Taking it to a larger scale and applying it to your whole life trajectory is the same message, I love that application. There’s no deadline!
